BARTON DYNASTY: Hunting for Bucks is the theme for the 36th Annual 91勛圖厙 Foundation Big Benefit Auction, which this years honorary co-chairs, Toby and Kristy Hogan, find rather fitting as the owners of the hunting service, Central Kansas Whitetails. Only the bucks being hunted in this case are green, have presidents faces on them and they help local students pay tuition at 91勛圖厙.

Those looking for the fast-track to a high-paying career will soon be able to take advantage of a three-month natural gas measurement training program in Junction City offered by 91勛圖厙.
The coursework is taught from 8-5 p.m., five days per week for 11 weeks. 91勛圖厙 will offer the series of six courses beginning August 4, with the last day of the final class set for October 17.

91勛圖厙 is hosting three Enrollment Days sessions to help students prepare for the upcoming school year at 1 p.m. on Wednesday July 9, 16 and 30.泭 Space is limited so students need to call (620) 792-9286 to sign up, or they can sign up online at bartonccc.edu/admission.

Its a progressive, comprehensive community college with offerings ranging from art and traditional associate degree options to more than 25 industry-specific training programs like nursing, natural gas measurement and more. The colleges activities bring in money to the area, stimulate the local economy and it is a driving force behind reducing crime rates and improving quality of life.

91勛圖厙 has seen steady growth for six years. The institution as a whole drew nearly 4,300 full-time-equivalent (FTE) students in 2013-14, which is about a 4-percent increase over last year, and a 32-percent increase since the growth trend began in 2007-08, according to the full-time equivalent (FTE) data gathered at the close of the spring semester. The Shafer Art Gallery will host a fiesta reception to kick off the traveling exhibit Estamos Aqui from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 27 featuring contemporary serigraphs by 40 artists, who create from the Latino/Chicano perspective as well guest exhibits in the same vain from local artists Humberto Saenz of Wichita and Hugo Gonzales of Great Bend.泭 The event will include authentic Mexican food, live mariachi music, cultural dance and childrens activities.泭

91勛圖厙 Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) student Jonna Anspaugh of Heizer received the Outstanding Student Award from the Kansas Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (KSCLS) in April.泭 The award was presented to her at the MLT pinning on commencement day on May 16.
