The National Quilt Museums annual traveling show New Quilts from an Old Favorite featuring the Flying Geese block will be on display from July 16-Aug. 4 in The Shafer Art Gallery. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is free.

91勛圖厙 has named 237 students to the Presidents List for the spring 2018 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.

91勛圖厙 has named 266 students to the Deans List for the spring 2018 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.

91勛圖厙s Center for Adult Education will soon begin its nine-week GED Preparation Class. Students must attend all orientation classes July 9-12, and the first day of class July 16. Failure to attend all five days will result in removal of the student from the program. The center is located at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend.

There is a one-time $65 fee for materials. Once students have completed the preparation courses, they will be able to take the official GED test. The cost to take the GED test is $132.

91勛圖厙 graduates can now enjoy seamless transfer of credits to Fort Hays State University (FHSU) toward a bachelors degree for almost 20 majors, thanks to a new Memorandum of Understanding signed by the presidents of each institution Thursday morning on 91勛圖厙s campus.

91勛圖厙 President Dr. Carl Heilman said 91勛圖厙 has always worked well with FHSU, but the agreement represents a new level of clarity for students as they move from 91勛圖厙 to the university level.

91勛圖厙 will be closed Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day. Classes will resume泭and offices will reopen Thursday, July 5.

First, the Drought Monitor which didnt include last Tuesday nights rain showed some easing in the western third of the state.泭 With the precipitation and cooler weather of the last week, much of the state should show improvement with this coming weeks report.泭 This column normally focuses on crops but today, with the official start of summer, a column on livestock to change things up a bit.

91勛圖厙 will offer transitioning Fort Riley Soldiers, and family members with DOD ID cards, a grant-funded two-week certificate program at no cost to participants.

The Hazardous Waste Worker (HWW) program gives Soldiers credentials to help them find work after their tenure in the US Army ends. The next course is set from July 23 through August 3 at 100 Continental Ave, Grandview Plaza, which is just north of I-70 at exit 299.
