91勛圖厙 will present a student recital at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 26 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel, located in the Fine Arts Building, F-157. The recital is free and open to the public.

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Instructor Dana Weber (from left), Chelsey Lyon of McPherson and MLT Program Director Cheryl Lippert pose for a photo after presenting Lyon with the Kansas Society for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (KSCLS) Mary Conrad Scholarship for $500. She is one of two students in the state of Kansas awarded as an outstanding student by the KSCLS. Instructor input, grades, ability to perform and the addition she plans to make to the profession are all taken into consideration by the KSCLS.

91勛圖厙 Theatre Director Dr. Rick Abel premiered the Original Play Series at 91勛圖厙 last year, and in light of its success, he is bringing it back as an annual theatre event. The Second Annual Original Play Series one-night performance is at 7:30 p.m. on April 26 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is free.

91勛圖厙 art students work will line the walls of the Shafer Art Gallery during the BCC Student Art Exhibit April 20 through May 5.

There will be a reception and awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 20 which will include a jurors talk and refreshments.

Shafer Art Gallery Director Dave Barnes said the student exhibit is a wonderful opportunity for students to gain experience as professional artists.

91勛圖厙 needs volunteers for its annual Field Operations Day on May 5. Volunteers participate as patients or bystanders in realistic training scenarios for 91勛圖厙 EMS, Criminal Justice, Nursing and Medical Assistant students. The EMS department is asking for volunteers to sign up by April 20. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and encouraged; lunch will be provided. Those interested in signing up can visit .

High school students from Ellinwood, Great Bend, Stafford, Larned and Hoisington came to 91勛圖厙 to engage in hands-on workshops from art professionals and participate in a juried art exhibit Wednesday.

Vortex Day is sponsored by the 91勛圖厙 County Arts Council (BCAC) and is underwritten by the Bill J. McKown Endowment/Golden Belt Foundation.

Enjoy an evening of classical music and gallery art with the 91勛圖厙 Orchestras spring concert Classical Ventures at 7:30 p.m. April 16, in the Shafer Art Gallery. Music by Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Rota, Handel and Jenkins will be presented. The concert is free and open to the public.
