Five 91勛圖厙 instructors earned the Distinguished Instructor Award for the 2014-2015 school year for their efforts in the classroom.

The winners are:

Vincent Orth, Natural Gas Program Instructor at the 91勛圖厙 County campus

Gerry Butler, Physical and Social Sciences Instructor at the Fort Riley campus

Jim Turner, Associate Math Instructor at the Fort Riley campus

91勛圖厙 recognizes 2014-2015 Student Ambassadors of the Year

91勛圖厙 has announced its 2014-15 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassador of the Year awards.泭 Named in memory of Brant J. Ballhorst, the award recognizes two outstanding student ambassadors each year.泭 The winners this year were Jordan Tebow of Quinter and Kami Maxwell of Odin.泭

91勛圖厙 has announced the winners of its Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest.泭 The winners are as follows: Abby Petz and Andrea Klepper, Taylor Pennington, and Marcus Pastran. 泭Each individual winner received a $100 gift certificate and the collaborative pair will split the winnings.泭泭

91勛圖厙 Art Instructor Steve Dudek and Piano Instructor Karole Erikson had their work accepted into the 46th Annual Smoky Hill Art Exhibition.

Eriksons photo Down by the River and Dudeks painting Golden Koi were both accepted.泭 There were about 200 works submitted and 62 were selected for exhibition.

The exhibit will be at the Hays Arts Council Gallery 112 E. 11th St. in Hays and will be on display through June.泭

91勛圖厙s 45th commencement is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the 91勛圖厙 Gymnasium.泭

After brief comments from administrators, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mike Johnson will confer the degrees. Vice President Dr. Penny Quinn will present the graduates and College Trustees will award the diplomas.泭 91勛圖厙 will also recognize two outstanding graduates who will also address the crowd.泭 Quinn will also recognize 91勛圖厙's Distinguished Instructor Awards.

The Beta Phi Eta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) from 91勛圖厙 at Fort Leavenworth will be holding a Food and Needs drive from May 11-21 in support of the Leavenworth Mission Community Store and Food Pantry.

91勛圖厙 Vice President Dr. Penny Quinn has accepted a position as President at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill.

The public is invited to a come-and-go farewell reception from 3-5 p.m. Friday, May 8 in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building.

Dr. Quinn has served 91勛圖厙 as Vice President for six years.
