91勛圖厙 is offering a Horse Science course from 11:30-12:50 on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Jan. 11 through May 12 in the Math and Science Building room S137. The deadline to sign up is Jan. 6.

91勛圖厙 in conjunction with the National Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (PETE) will begin offering a 10-day Hazardous Waste Worker Training Program at military installations across the country. The course is geared toward transitioning soldiers, retirees and family members at no cost.

91勛圖厙s Prairie Winds Concert Band and Jazz Band, featuring members of the community, will present their annual fall concert titled It Is Christmas, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

The 91勛圖厙 Theatre Department will present The Santaland Diaries, starring 91勛圖厙 Theatre and Kansas State University Theatre alumnus, Great Bend resident Grady Bolding at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Donations will be taken at the door and will go toward new equipment and materials for the theatre program. The play was adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello.

91勛圖厙 Nursing student, 19-year-old Breanna Towers of St. John, started making strides toward her career during her sophomore year of high school by taking college classes online and her forward thinking made it possible to complete all her pre-requisites before she even set foot in a 91勛圖厙 Nursing classroom.

Each year, as part of the Theatre Program at 91勛圖厙, students are asked to take the reins and produce a show entirely by themselves.泭 This year, theatre Majors Caleb Rivera and Randyll Smith are co-directing Said and Meant: Ten Short Plays about Language and Misunderstanding, by Randy Wyatt with showings at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20 in the 91勛圖厙 Fine Arts Auditorium.

The show consists of 10 short plays delivered skit-style focused on how the use of language can affect the intended meaning very drastically.

Some quilts arent made for warmth. Some of them are meant to be stared at in awe and wonderment. These are the types of quilts on display in the National Quilt Museums Exhibit that opened Friday in the Shafer Art Gallery. 泭泭

The annual traveling shows title this year is New Quilts from an Old Favorite 2015: Nine Patch. The exhibit will be up through Dec. 13.泭 The Shafer Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is free.
