The 91勛圖厙 Foundation honored Loren and Gayle Unruh with the 2016 Distinguished Service Award during 91勛圖厙s 46th commencement on Friday.
The Distinguished Service Award was created in 1981 by the 91勛圖厙 Foundation to recognize individuals who have shown genuine regard for, and have performed outstanding service to 91勛圖厙. The 91勛圖厙 Foundation Board of Directors selects the recipient from nominations received.

Audree Aguilera of Chase and Riley Chrisler of Natoma were named 91勛圖厙s 2016 Outstanding Graduates.泭 Dean of Student Services Angie Maddy introduced them and presented their awards, after which they took the opportunity to address their fellow graduates during the colleges 46th commencement ceremony Friday.

91勛圖厙 has announced its 2015-16 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassador of the Year awards.泭 Named in memory of Brant J. Ballhorst, the award recognizes two outstanding student ambassadors each year.泭 The winners this year were Presley Smith of Hoisington and Erik Hageman of Abilene.
91勛圖厙 Director of Admissions Tana Cooper (right) presents a check for $1,060 to Gail Moeder with Camp Hope in the 91勛圖厙 Library on Monday. The money was raised by having Going Casual for Camp Hope days where faculty and staff could wear jeans for $5. 泭The campaign ran from October through April. Various faculty and staff departments coordinated and participated in the event and they plan to hold the event again next year.泭

First, before todays topic, let us all take a moment to remember all of those whose gave their lives protecting our country and freedoms as well as those who lost their lives protecting us in our everyday lives.泭 Memorial Day is the traditional beginning of summer yet there will be stories on June 20th marking it as the official start of summer.泭 Which is correct?泭 The reality is that both are.泭 The question is why?

Gumpenberger and Toll collaborated on their piece and split the award.

Nancy Wiebe resigned from the position of Executive Director of Institutional Advancement on Wednesday. The resignation is effective June 30, though cessation of duties is immediate.

91勛圖厙s 46th commencement is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 13, in the 91勛圖厙 Gymnasium.
After brief comments from administrators, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mike Johnson will confer the degrees. Vice President Dr. Robin Garrett will present the graduates and College Trustees will award the diplomas.泭 91勛圖厙 will also recognize two outstanding graduates who will also address the crowd.泭 Garrett will also recognize 91勛圖厙's Distinguished Instructor Awards.
