91勛圖厙s Center for Adult Education will soon begin its nine-week GED preparation class. Students must attend all orientation classes Sept. 10-13, and the first day of class Sept. 17. Failure to attend all five days will result in removal of the student from the program. The center is located at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend.
There is a one-time $65 fee for materials.泭Once students have completed the preparation courses, they will be able to take the official GED test. The cost to take the GED test is $132.

Mantz was one of 280 community college students from across the U.S. (one of five from Kansas) to be part of the NASA College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) on-site experience at NASAs Johnson Space Center this summer.
Since I was little, I have always been fascinated by the stars and caught myself wondering what is out there, 91勛圖厙 Sophomore Raley Mantz said.

91勛圖厙 County Upward Bound (BCUB) harvested 3,267 vegetables through the first season of its community garden. The project began with BCUBs student-run leadership committee which allows students to generate ideas for activities and events for the year.

Shielded Metal Arc Welding classes will be offered 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday evenings at Lyons High School beginning on Wednesday, August 22 and will conclude on December 12. Timothy Slupski, an experienced welder of more than 20 years, will teach the class. The total cost of the course is $336.

What were you wearing? is an art installation on display in the 91勛圖厙 County Court House lobby through Aug. 17 and at the Great Bend Library through Aug. 24. The show will continue its time in Great Bend at 91勛圖厙 in the upper level of the Student Union September 7-24.
