91勛圖厙 will present a student recital of instrumental and vocal performances at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel, located in the Fine Arts Building, F-157. 泭The recital is free and open to the public.

91勛圖厙s annual literary journal publishes seventh issue
Editors of 91勛圖厙s literary journal Prairie Ink aim to provide a venue for local authors to showcase their creative writing talents, and have done so again with the release of their seventh issue of the annual publication.
The KDA (Kansas Department of Agriculture) just released the results of a survey of agricultural businesses in Kansas.泭 Here is the first sentence of that report: A lack of a skilled agricultural workforce is a top inhibitor of growth and expansion for many Kansas agriculture businesses.泭 The shortage covers the gamut from entry level positions to those requiring advanced degrees with over fifty percent of the vacancies in three areas; agriculture mechanics, agriculture business and animal science.泭 Another finding was, to quote the release: Employers indicated that basic skills such as

The 91勛圖厙 Visual and Performing Arts Department will host its annual Sneak Preview Concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
The event will feature performances by the Hilltop Singers, Concert Choir, Jazz Ensemble and Prairie Winds Concert Band.
Director of Chorale Activities Vern Fryberger said the concert is a good representation of the wide range of music offerings at 91勛圖厙.

Desmund Cantu has been incarcerated for four years, since he was 19 years old, and he, like 97 percent of all inmates in the US, will be released. Cantu has less than two years left in his sentence.
Statistics would say he will have a one in three chance of landing back in prison, a cycle known as recidivism in which inmates return to the only lifestyles, habits and behaviors theyve ever known.

Two 91勛圖厙 students earned awards in the Fine Arts Competition for professional photography and painting at the Kansas State Fair.
Karole Erikson had pieces place first and second in professional photography, with Diane Engle receiving the Stuart Awbrey Memorial Award and fourth place for painting. Erikson and Engle are students of Art Instructor Steve Dudek. Both are also employees at the college.
