91勛圖厙 will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 21. 91勛圖厙's Center for Adult Education and the Shafer Art Gallery also will be closed. Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

91勛圖厙 is offering woodworking courses from 6-10 p.m. on Mondays from February 4 to through April 22 at Ellsworth High School, 211 W. 11th St. in Ellsworth.

The instructor will be David Weeks. Classes of various levels will be available including Woodworking I, Woodworking II and Individual Woodworking Projects. Each course will count for three credit-hours.泭 The cost is $336 per class and fees for materials used.

Megan Janousek struggled in high school and college. She had trouble learning in a classroom environment and decided to quit school. She started working at a local country club and wasnt sure what she wanted to do. A mentor stepped in and encouraged her to continue her education and become her best self.

Janousek had tried a university setting and didnt like it, so she started looking at community colleges. Her husbands family was from Great Bend and had ties to 91勛圖厙, so she enrolled.

Caterina Lingenfelter is a single mom who works as a human resources assistant and is a sergeant with the National Guard. Shes also earning her associate degree in general studies from BARTonline.

91勛圖厙 has been really great to be able to manage the workload of being able to go to school full-time, she said. Im a single working mom and I dont have time, but sometimes you have to prioritize.

For the first time, 91勛圖厙 will host an art exhibit that showcases talent from every segment of the campus students, faculty and staff. The exhibits name is BaRTaRT.

Andy Brown, guest juror, will speak at the Opening Night Awards Reception at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at the Shafer Gallery in the Fine Arts Building. Awards will be presented to students only; the exhibit runs through Feb. 16 and the community is invited to attend at no charge.

The Central Kansas Community泭Choir (CKCC), which is open to all choral singers high school age and older,泭will be rehearsing from 7-9 p.m. on Monday evenings beginning Jan. 14 at the Morrison Chapel at 91勛圖厙 in Great Bend in preparation for an April 1 concert.泭 Accessible parking is available.
